Crochet Bunny and Crochet Lavender Mice...

My friend commissioned me to make these for her.  The crochet bunny is for her future nephew, and the mice are for her mother in law.

The little crochet bunny is called Herbert.  I was feeling whimsical, so I thought I'd make him a tank top to keep him warm.  I made up the pattern myself, and I'm specially pleased with his face, I sometimes find it hard to embroider the features on nicely, but I think this one worked out well.  I can see myself making another one of these for me, I found it very hard to part with him.

And here are the mice, crocheted to my own pattern and filled with lavender, to make clothes smell nice!

I'm having a break from selling on Etsy and at craft fairs for now, but I am available for commission pieces, contact me through my Facebook page if you'd like me to make you something special.

  2. Very neat work Sooz, but I'm a bit concerned about the bunnies tail ? if it is for a baby, he may 'suck' the tail and some threads could come away in his mouth - sorry, not criticizing, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw it, speaking as a Mum and Grandmother.
The tails on the mice are much better, how about a 'bunch' of those instead of a pom-pom ?

    1. It's a bit late to change it now, it's on it's way to Brazil, but I will tell my friend to be careful of the pompom and that it can be easily cut off if it's a problem. Thanks for the alert! I did make the pompom myself, and I did do it tight and tried to pull a bit out myself and I couldn't, so hopefully it'll be alright.

  4. They are absolutely gorgeous! Very taken by Herbert's rainbow tank top.
Know what you mean about embroidering faces - I'm rarely happy with the ones I do! x

    1. Thanks Tracey. I was a bit in love with Herbert, I didn't want to give him away!

I usually get my mum to help with the faces, but now I don't live with her any more I have to do it myself!
