Vegan Junk Food...So Malty Aldi Fruity Malt Loaf...

I have not eaten malt loaf since I was a child!  This is all sticky and malty and when I eat a slice of it spread with vegan margarine I'm 8 years old again!  70p from Aldi.

Here are the ingredients, you can click to embiggen them...

Have you made any magical, vegan junk food discoveries recently??

(This product is vegan as far as I can tell - items have suitable for vegetarians labelling, no dairy/eggs in the allergy section and the ingredients list contains no animal ingredients that I can see)

  1. I love malt loaf, and I was 16 before I tasted one ! (don't ask how long ago that was!)
I would be interested to know the calories in a slice of this - with butter naturally !
By the way, referring to a recent post of yours, I've now planted some chick peas, and they have germinated and are now about 3" high and are looking good ! also some ordinary dried peas from the supermarket and they have germinated too, I will use them for salad 'sprouts'.

    1. There are 114 calories per 1/6 of a loaf! I looked that up on the packet for you!

Glad your chick peas are getting along well..mine are too, about the only thing the slugs haven't had a nibble on too!

    1. I've heard about oreos being vegan, but I've never eaten one..I feel this must be rectified soon!
