Charity Shopping, Birthday Charity Shop Haul.

It was my birthday earlier in the month, and I went charity shopping  on my birthday, to a market the day after, charity shopping later in the week and some of my presents came from the charity shop too!

I really came home with a haul, here's what I got,

Wicker Owl basket. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

Wicker Owl (his head comes off, so he's a basket-y sort of owl!).
2 for £1 table, local charity shop.

Retro glass serving plate. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

Glass plate.  I had to buy this, so I could have the owl off the 2 for £1 table!  I quite like it though, I will serve nuts from it in a retro fashion at Christmas.

Retro snail and tortoise ornaments. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

Snail and tortoise funny tiny creatures with holes in, maybe for tiny plants?  I have no idea what these were originally used for!
29p and 39p, local charity shop.

Hornsea deer vase. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

Hornsea Fauna deer vase.  Yes, I have another one of these, but I needed this one too!
£3, stall on Birmingham Rag Market.

Marks and Spencer stripey t-shirt. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

I never find nice t-shirts in charity shops, but this one is STRIPY! and like new, and from Marks and Spencers.
£1, local charity shop.

Wooden bead necklaces. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

Wooden necklaces.
99p for 2, local charity shop.

JIE Sweden retro mid century kitchen canisters. Charity shop haul. secondhandsusie.blogspot.co.uk

Retro Swedish kitchen canisters.  I'd looked at these myself in the charity shop, but my mum actually bought them for me for my birthday (without me knowing!).  They have 'JIE Sweden' imprinted on their bases, and I think they're mid-century.
Present, local charity shop.

Phew!

Have you bought something beautiful (or lots of beautiful somethings!) from the charity shop recently?

Linking up with Flaunt it Friday and Vintage Bliss Tuesdays.

  1. Wow, ace finds! The bright bead necklace will look amazing with the stripey top (also - £1?! What a bargain! I swear all my local charity shops have crazy pricing, that would be at least £4 here. And I live in Leicester, it's not like I'm somewhere posh!)

    1. I live in a very un-posh area, we have a mix of scabby charity shops and trying to be Mary Portas charity shops, I prefer the scabby ones with lots of bargains! I do rarely find anything nice on the £1 rails, I would usually pay around £3 or £4 for a top too!

  3. I really like those kitchen canisters.

I have been shutting my eyes to bargains in my charity shop recently, but I did buy a shopping bag and some sticky labels this week, what a time to be alive!

    1. Haha! They sound like exciting buys! I've been trying to avoid bringing too much home, but I made an exception for my birthday!

I had a look online for those canisters, they're quite expensive! (start at £40!) I reckon mum probably paid £5 for them all :D

  4. Love those jars - something like that would really jazz up my rather boring and very dated kitchen!

  5. It's like you raided my Godmother's old china cabinet- they had what I called a cabinet of curiosities in their front hall and I'm not kidding but all the items you bought before the top were in there!!
Love the top and necklaces too and biscuit barrels are beauaaaaaaaaaaaiful!x

  7. Love the owl and covet the Swedish Kitchen Canisters. Is it rude to ask what the latter cost?

    1. Thank you :) I don't think it's rude, but as the canisters were a present I'm not sure how much they cost. I did look at them in the charity shop before they were bought for me, my best guess is that they were somewhere between £5 - £10 for the set :)

  8. *Weirdo commenting on old post alert* I wonder if those things with holes could have been pincushions? Also, love those canisters! Must pop back to browse the rest of your finds at a more sociable hour!

I wondered if they were once pincushions too, but then whyy would someone remove the in cushion part!? It's very mysterious!
