If you have any causes or actions to add then let me know in the comments and if I like it I'll add it in. And feel free to share any of this info (or the whole post) wherever and with whoever you like - if you sign any of the petitions and use social media then please consider using the share on facebook or twitter options that pop up, it increases the reach of these actions and awareness of these issues even further.

DeleteThese are fantastic ideas! In my city of Austin, in Texas... Plastic bags are banned. It's actually weird to go somewhere and see others use plastic bags! I recycle all stretchy plastic, it's actually a pain but I feel bad throwing it away, I have to take it to a different place as our recycle plant won't take it! But so much of our food is wrapped in it and the things that we buy, even our mail is packaged in it!
ReplyDeleteThese are great ideas and I'm going to pass the information on!

I think there will be a charge introduced for plastic bags, 5p each, in the UK next year, to put people off using them. But a ban would be sooo much better. I've just realised that I can recycle most stretchy plastic in with plastic bags (there are recycling bins for plastic bags at supermarkets) which has made a big difference in how much I'm throwing away. It should all be banned though, horrible stuff!
