Charity shopping, the one with the weird but cute owl.

I'm trying to curb my charity shop spending.  The house just feels so full, and we still haven't unpacked everything.  But these little things called out to me, and as they're only so very little they were allowed to come home with me!

This pattern, Bacchus by Kiln craft, is my absolute favourite retro crockery pattern.  The internet says this is a 2 handled soup bowl, so there you go!

Here's the weird but cute owl.  Just to add to his weirdness his head comes off!  I think maybe it's a tiny owl shaped ginger jar?

I bought this last year but it's only just been unpacked.  I got this little papier mache box in Windsor on holiday.  I love the little animals on it!

Have you bought anything from the charity shops lately?

P.S. Check out my other charity shop posts for more!

  1. I am also trying to curb my buying, everyone at my shop knows my style now so anything mid century is pointed out to me!

Last week I splashed out £5.99 on a cord jacket, a spring/autumn jacket was on my shopping list so I was well pleased.

    1. Yey, I love it when you find exactly what you want! I try to be organised and have a mental shopping list, but it usually goes out of the window and I end up buying a weird retro animal!

  2. I love the soup bowl - it's crying out to become home to a potted succulent, I reckon!

    1. Oh, and you have inspired me to use my vintage pyrex as dishes for the fridge - I think I saw on Instagram that you have them in your fridge for veg? I'm tired of them living in the cupboard and never being used.

    2. Yes, it definitely has strong future potential as a plant pot! And yey for fridge pyrex, they make the fridge prettier and more organised! :D

  3. Hello Susie! Three lovely finds there. My Grandparents used to have the Bacchus coffee set when I was a child, I loved the chunkiness of the cups and the groovy design.
The owl is adorable. Was that the PDSA in Wellington? Ellen, the manager, is a dear friend! xxx

    1. Yes it was from the PDSA, I'd noticed they'd got a new manager a while ago and lots of lovely vintage goodies in - it's one of my favourite charity shops now!

  4. Ah, I love them! I got two beautiful brand new book-shaped boxes from Barnados. The shop keeper lady burst out laughing as I brought them to the counter as she'd had a bet with her colleague that they'd go in half an hour. Apparently it was not even 5 minutes after she'd put them out that I grabbed them!
