Look!  They're new in their packet!  It's too exciting!  Mum says she had this bedding but in a different colour in the seventies.  She says my Nan and Granddad had it too, in yellow and brown flannelette!  You can see the brown and yellow version on the packet illustration too.

These are new in their packets too!!  They have their original price stickers on too, £5.75 for the sheet and £1.15 for the pillowcase.  I kind of don't want to take them out of the packets.

These 2 pieces of retro curtain offcut tell me they want to be made into a cushion cover.

I believe these are Marks and Spencers/St Michaels too, and they look like they've never been used.

Have you had any luck in the charity shops lately?

  1. You're right, the pink pillowcases are St Michael, I used one to back one of my quilts and it was still in the packet when I bought it. You got a lot of fabric for the money there, great finds.

  2. Ooh, nice! Have you ever been to Hereford? There is an amazing charity there called Rose Tinted Rags that teaches sewing skills to people with learning disabilities, and also happens to have a giant shop full of vintage fabric, yarn, patterns, and haberdashery. It's just wondrous! I'm sure I saw some fabric similar to yours there.

  3. They are a little bit fabulous. A good find. I know what you mean about not wanting to take them out of the packet, it seems a shame, but you can't not use them! X

    1. Thank you, I think I will take them out of the packets eventually, but they can stay in there a little bit longer!

  4. I made a dress out of the matching sheet to those St Michael pillowcases! I got stopped and told so many times that people had that sheet (or their nan or parents, did) that I gave it to a charity shop.
    Great finds! xxx

  6. I am always amazed that you find these in your charity shops at humble prices, i only see them at retro shops and then the prices are a little to extortionate too. So pleased for you that you do though.

    1. Thank you Shaheen. I do get lucky in my little town, we still have a few scruffy charity shops left where the prices are cheap!
