I've bought ALL of the retro fabric, look!!
Look! They're new in their packet! It's too exciting! Mum says she had this bedding but in a different colour in the seventies. She says my Nan and Granddad had it too, in yellow and brown flannelette! You can see the brown and yellow version on the packet illustration too.
Dorma bed sheet £3.99, pillowcases £3.49, local Salvation Army charity shop.
St Michaels bed sheet, £3.99, pillowcase £1.99, local Salvation Army charity shop.
These 2 pieces of retro curtain offcut tell me they want to be made into a cushion cover.
Fabric offcuts, £1.99, local PDSA charity shop.
I believe these are Marks and Spencers/St Michaels too, and they look like they've never been used.
Retro pillowcases, £1.99, local hospice charity shop.
Have you had any luck in the charity shops lately?
P.S. Check out my other charity shop posts for more!

You're right, the pink pillowcases are St Michael, I used one to back one of my quilts and it was still in the packet when I bought it. You got a lot of fabric for the money there, great finds.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a quilt backed with that fabric, I bet that's super pretty!
DeleteOoh, nice! Have you ever been to Hereford? There is an amazing charity there called Rose Tinted Rags that teaches sewing skills to people with learning disabilities, and also happens to have a giant shop full of vintage fabric, yarn, patterns, and haberdashery. It's just wondrous! I'm sure I saw some fabric similar to yours there.
ReplyDeleteOoo that shop sounds so lovely, I've not been to Hereford but tis the husbands homeland so I'm sure we'll go eventually, I'll try to remember to visit it!
DeleteThey are a little bit fabulous. A good find. I know what you mean about not wanting to take them out of the packet, it seems a shame, but you can't not use them! X
ReplyDeleteThank you, I think I will take them out of the packets eventually, but they can stay in there a little bit longer!
DeleteI made a dress out of the matching sheet to those St Michael pillowcases! I got stopped and told so many times that people had that sheet (or their nan or parents, did) that I gave it to a charity shop.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! xxx
I bet that dress was gorgeous, whoever bought it from the charity shop was a lucky person! :)
DeleteI love the pink and blue Marks'/St Michael prints - they're so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks me too :)
DeleteI am always amazed that you find these in your charity shops at humble prices, i only see them at retro shops and then the prices are a little to extortionate too. So pleased for you that you do though.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shaheen. I do get lucky in my little town, we still have a few scruffy charity shops left where the prices are cheap!
DeleteOOOh, you did so well!!!! These are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you :D
DeleteYou have SUCH excellent retro fabric luck, I need to come and try your charity shops!
ReplyDeleteI am spoilt by good charity shops - we have about 12 in my little town!
