Make One Small Change - Use a Reusable Stainless Steel Drinking Straw.

Adopting eco friendly habits, for me, is easier taken one small step at a time.  Lots of small changes add up to a big difference.

I have bought myself some stainless steel drinking straws.  I avoid single use plastics if possible, so I haven't had a drink with a straw for a long time.

But now I can have a drink with a straw again!  I know it's a bit sad, but I find drinking from a straw so much more fun, and it means I drink more over the day (bonus, my skin is looking soo nice!).  These stainless steel straws can be washed and reused over and over again.

And the best part is, they cost just over a pound each on Ebay.

Have you made any eco friendly changes lately?

  1. What a fabulous idea, I have never seen stainless steel straws before. I really like to have a bottle of water next to my while I am studying but am guilty of buying bottled water!! :( My eco resolution will be to buy a stainless steel bottle and use that instead. Thanks for inspiring me. Love the owl by the way.

    1. That sounds like a good idea, maybe you could put a stainless steel straw in your stainless steel bottle for extra eco-friendliness!

The owl is from Matalan :)

  2. Haven't seen stainless steel straws before either! (just glass ones, but I thought about the breakage!)
Just be careful that you wash immediately after drinking any sweet juice or such, we once had plastic straws for a very long time (when we were kids) and there were worms inside of them eventually - not good! Just something to be mindful about!

    1. Ah, I do not like your worm story!!! The straws came with a tiny little brush to clean inside them, so I will make sure to use that!

  3. Yes - my three daughters love Stainless Steel Straws and when we are out we take them with us in a little carry pouch. The girls feel really chuffed knowing they are making a difference and keeping our oceans clean.
    thank you!
