J-17 magazine, early noughties fashion.

You know I love a bit of retro, and now I'm old enough that things from my childhood are considered vintage.  Now I know how my mum felt when I was into 1970's hippy stuff in the 1990's and she told me the seventies were only 15 years ago!

I recently discovered a folder full of torn out pages from early noughties copies of J-17 magazine (they would be from around 1999-2002), and I thought I'd share some of them here for posterity.

Did you read J-17 in the late nineties and early noughties?  I spent ages studying the photos and then sticking stickers, bindis and glitter all over myself!

Check out my other retro photos and patterns if you like these!

  1. Haha! I read Just Seventeen in the early 90's! I didn't read it for long - preferred Kerrang!

  2. I loved doing this! I still have my old scrapbooks, and in fact still hold on to any pictures I like on a very rare occasion when I come into possession of a fashion magazine. I'm not sure I have any that old but there's definitely a few early noughties ones in my oldest book!

    1. Yes, I had scrapbooks too, I'm sure they're still about somewhere, and I had an epic folder for school that I collaged with loads of tiny pictures cut out from magazines!

  4. I remember my friends mom confiscating the magazine off us when we were 14 because she said that it was for 17 year olds! It was my second favourite though, sugar was my favourite :)

  5. The older I get the more crazy it is that this time of my life was so long ago yet at the same time not that long ago at all! Time is a funny thing!
