Simple Pleasures #1.

A tray full of breakfast croissants, waiting to on into the oven. Yum!

  1. Love your fresh new space, but I am going to miss the old space too. My husband loves croissants, I have to admit I don't think I've made them at home - ever, should give them a go, bet yours were tasty!

    1. Thank you Shaheen. I have been blogging at my old place since 2009, it feels strange to move (but good!) I was going to start completely fresh, but then had a little panic about losing all my old stuff so transferred it across.

These croissants are cheats, I did cook them at home but they're out of a tube from the supermarket! Vegan though and very yummy!

    2. Hey Susie! What/where in the supermarket did you find this vegan croissant stuff? :)

    3. Hey Susie! These are vegan? Which supermarket would I get this product from and where would I find it? Thanks! :)

    4. Hi Charlotte :) The croisants are Jus' Rol brand, I bought them from Morrisons in the chiller section, by the chilled puff pastry. You can also get pain au chocolate (although I prefer to make a chocolate croissant by rolling up a few bits of choccy in the croissant dough before cooking) and cinnamon rolls.

There's a review of them here, with the ingredients listed

    5. Thanks Sooz! I found them in Sainsbury's, along with the pain au chocolat :) And both were on offer, half price! So grabbed them both and will try the croissants this weekend for an Easter brekkie :)

    6. I'm also assuming you need to bake all 6 at once, they don't keep once the tube has been opened?

    8. Glad you found them! Sounds like a perfect Easter feast!

I have always baked all 6 at once, but share them with my boyfriend, three each is probably a little too much though! The tube twists apart when you open it, so you have to take all the dough out, I've not tried keeping it, I imagine it would be ok in the fridge in a container for a couple of days, but that's just my guess!

    9. Thanks Sooz - they were great! I ended up baking all 6 at once (brushed with my homemade oat milk!) - I ate 3 hot and fresh from the oven for my Easter breakfast feast (you're right - very filling!) - then packed 2 for a picnic in the park; had the remaining one for breakfast this morning. All were great! Thanks again, and Happy Easter! :) x
